FRISCO — Living in a place where winter dominates the landscape easily six months of the year, it’s hard not to encounter whiteness. White is sometimes described as the absence of all color — or, alternately as the combination of all colors. But one thing is for sure: White is white; there are no hues or tones of white (although some may argue).
I did a quick Google search and there’s definitely a lot of scientific verbiage out there describing whitness … For a photographer, white can be troublesome. It’s difficult to expose properly and easy to get featureless highlights. So I like to use whiteness as a foil against which to play contrasting colors. Here are a few of my favorite white shots for this week’s #FriFotos Twitter chat. Join the fun on Twitter by uploading your own white-themed shots, tagging them with #FriFotos, then sit back and enjoy travel pics from around the world.
