Get your WinterBike groove on at Copper Mountain
As much as we love to ski here in the Colorado high country, we don't like to give up our other pursuits just because it's winter. So to adapt, some die-hard cyclists invented "fat bikes," featuring big balloon tires and other specialized components that make snow-biking a breeze, even on icy roads. If you're curious about how and why some folks continue riding their two-wheelers even in the coldest season, be sure to to check Copper Mountain's 3d annual WinterBike event coming up Jan. 18-19.

The storm door is open — expect a powder weekend at Copper Mountain!
The storm door is open and winter weather continues to stream into northern Colorado in January, with National Weather Service forecasters calling for yet another powder weekend at Copper Mountain! According to the latest winter weather advisory, the mountains of Summit County could see between six to 12 inches of snow by Friday night, so be ready for a powder feast Saturday morning. The advisory ends Saturday morning at 6 a.m.

Try Snowshoeing or Crosscountry Skiing — For Free — This Weekend
Zipping up the mountain on Copper Mountain's high-speed lifts is awesome, but there's a quieter side to being outside in the winter that will be featured during the 19th annual Winter Trails day on Jan. 11. Crosscountry ski areas and gear-makers will team up to give winter sports enthusiasts the chance to try snowshoeing and cross country skiing free at venues throughout North America.

Heard About Copper’s Siesta Zones? It’s All Part of Ski Safety Month
During ski safety month at Copper Mountain, guests are welcome and encouraged to stop by Copper’s on-mountain ski patrol duty stations to enjoy a warm cup of free hot chocolate and meet patrollers and avalanche dogs. Stop by either Patrol Headquarters, which is located at the top of the Excelerator lift, and/or Timberline Patrol which is located off of the American Flyer lift.

CDOT Plans More Love for I-70 Skiers with Westbound Twin Tunnels Expansion
After completing a significant upgrade on eastbound I-70 with a third eastbound lane through the Twin Tunnels, near Idaho Springs, the Colorado Department of Transportation wants to proceed with expanding the westbound side of the tunnel.
