$69 season pass good for Bungee jumping, mini-golf and bike hauls

Copper Mountain opens Friday, June 18 for summer activities and events.

Copper offers summer guests an array of special events, live music, Kids’ Night Out – a free evening childcare service, golf, cycling, Free Fridays at Copper (FAC), activities, Woodward at Copper and many more adventures – all in an intimate resort setting.  Copper Creek Golf Course also plans to open on Friday, June 18.

The Copper 2010 summer events schedule includes legendary favorites like 3 Ring Weekend, the Courage Classic, Guitar Town and Copper Country, in addition to NEW events such as Genuine Jazz and Wine, Warrior Dash, an MS Hike, the Village Art Walk and the Saturday Concert Series, featuring Reverend Horton Heat, Shawn Colvin and Tab Benoit. The NEW Summer Season Pass at Copper is available for only $69 and Summer Activity Day Passes are only $39.  Both passes offer unlimited access to the Quad Bungee Jump, mini golf, the Digglers, scenic chair lift rides, West Lake activities, bike/equipment hauls, the climbing wall and one session per day on Summit County’s only go-kart track.

The Summer Day pass is valid for the day of purchase, whereas the NEW Summer Season Pass is valid for the entire summer. Other ongoing activities this summer at Copper include mini-golf, bocce, North America’s Highest Championship Golf Course – Copper Creek, GPS scavenger hunt, croquet, horseshoes, mountain biking, fishing, whitewater rafting, horseback rides and cattle drives, Dillon Reservoir tours, ATV tours and a multitude of West Lake activities.

This summer, FAC stands for Fridays at Copper, and it also stands for FREE. Starting June 18, which is, you guessed it, a Friday, Copper’s FAC includes free music, free movies and free activities. Ok, the activities are almost free – just spend $30 in the Village on Fridays and you get free tickets to the village activities, from bungee to bumper boats. Guests may redeem the free pass at the Adventure Desk in Copper Mountain Sports in the Village at Copper.

Make sure to check out Woodward at Copper, the first indoor/outdoor ski and snowboard camp on the planet with a focus on terrain park and pipe progression, offering week-long Summer Camps for those looking to progress their terrain park and pipe skills in the off-season, as well as the NEW Woodward at Copper skate and cheer camps. In addition, the Barn is open for Drop-In and One Hit Wonder sessions on Saturdays at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. during the summer.

•    Endo’s Adrenaline Café is keeping the kitchen open until 10 p.m. for dinner. Then DJ Siren will be spinning all your favorite tunes well into the night.

•    Enjoy a DJ Dance party at The Green Fairy Bar, from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m., Copper’s newest premier nightclub experience, with the latest in international dance music and European club atmosphere, or the underground absinthe bar featuring authentic, real wormwood absinthes from around the globe. In today’s Summit County News, read about a unique pilot program to keep prescription drugs out of local streams with new take-back boxes at City Market. Chemicals from drugs, as well as cosmetics, are turning up in water and could be harming fish.

And the Forest Service will reconsider a massive forest health logging project around Breckenridge after residents of the Peak 7 neighborhood showed up en masse at a meeting to raise concerns about the plan.
