SUMMIT COUNTY — Copper Mountain can help you celebrate a memorable Valentine’s Day with the Kids’ Night Out program. Sponsored by the Copper Mountain Chamber of Commerce, the program offers free childcare for customers enjoying resort amenities — as long as the parents spend $30 per child while the kids are in the program.
The service is offered from 5:30 p.m to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and also on Valentine’s Night, Sunday Feb. 14. Kids can enjoy pizza, crafts, games, movies and much more. Walk-ups are accepted on a space-availability basis. Reservations are highly recommended – please reserve 48 hours in advance. Call (970) 968-2318 ext. 38101 for more information.
Also scheduled for this weekend is En Fuego, a free street party the whole family will enjoy, from 4 p.m to 7 p.m., Feb. 13. This En Fuego features an ice skating spectacular at West Lake put on by members of the Breckenridge Figure Skating Club, bonfires scattered throughout the village to keep children’s hands toasty warm, fire jugglers, a BMX stunt show and the grand finale of fireworks over West Lake. After all, En Fuego is Spanish for an epic Saturday night.
A sleigh ride under the stars or through the snowflakes is another ticket to a romantic evening. The rides depart from the Beeler Barn across from the Transportation Center in the Alpine Parking Lot. The family-oriented rides start at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14, there is a Special “Starlit” couples-only sleigh ride at 8 p.m. For more information call (970) 968-2232 or visit www.coppermtstables.com.
Or how about an ice-skating session, including lessons, at West Lake, Feb. 13 and 14 between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. For more information on ice skating lessons, please call Bonnie Kirchoff at (802) 535-0112.
