Lift Off Presented by Sprint, Nov. 6 – 8

Copper Mountain celebrates Lift Off presented by Sprint, the resort’s 5th annual opening weekend festival. Copper kicks off the season right and celebrates the return of winter.  Don’t miss the latest 2010 ski & snowboard movies.  This year Copper will premier TGR’s new film: Re:Session.  You’ve gotta be at the Lift Off concert on Saturday night – past performances include Blackalicious, Brother Ali, the Beatnuts, and Rahzel from the Roots.

US Snowboarding Race to the Cup, Nov. 12 – 13

The U.S. Snowboarding Race to the Cup series makes three stops each season. Each stop on the tour will consist of two alpine events with $3K in prize money at each stop. All races will be scheduled as part of the NorAm series. Visit www.ussnowboarding.com for more info.

8th Annual Leftover Yam & Jive Turkey Rail Jam, Nov. 27

Happy Thanksjibbing…compete for a chance to win great prizes from Woodward at Copper! Registration is free and the event will take place in the Eagle Jib Park with an open-jam format. Helmets are required.  Don’t miss the first rail jam of the season put on just for you by Copper!

Gobbler Chase Snowshoe Race, Nov. 28

Grab your snowshoes and walk, trot or run to Copper’s 6th annual Gobbler Chase.  Register online at www.villageatcopper.com/gobbler-chase/. There will be Thanksgiving treats and prizes after the race, a canned food drive, and all proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations!

En Fuego – Tree Lighting with Skydiving Santa, Nov. 28

Celebrate Thanksgiving weekend Copper-style when the Village heats up at night with En Fuego from 6 – 8 p.m.  Cheer while Santa and his elves skydive into the village to light the Copper holiday tree and enjoy the torchlight parade, street entertainers, bonfires, fire performers, and the finale of a brilliant fireworks display viewed from Burning Stones Plaza.  After all, En Fuego is Spanish for an epic Saturday night.

USSA Grand Prix, Dec. 10 – 13

Top snowboarders from around the globe will compete in their quest for the title of overall winner during the kickoff to America’s largest competitive snowboarding tour – the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix and Paul Mitchell Progression Session. All the top snowboard athletes will be throwing down in Copper’s new 22’ Superpipe, located right in the heart of the Village at Copper. This year’s competition cannot be missed as athletes vie for coveted Olympic Halfpipe spots that will send them to the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

High Alpine Holidays, Dec. 5, 12, 19

The USASA Rocky Mountain Series, the largest and longest running amateur snowboard series in North America, celebrates 23 years of amateur competition.  Copper is proud to host the 2010 USASA Nationals in April. Rocky Mountain Series events take place throughout the season, online registration and details at www.rockymountainseries.com. Freeride events are open to snowboarders and skiers.

Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade & En Fuego, Dec. 24

A long standing holiday tradition at Copper, the torchlight parade will be led by Santa and his elves as The Village at Copper sparkles with holiday cheer.  Toast s’mores and warm fingers over bonfires, as fireworks light the sky.

New Year’s Eve 20 X, Dec. 31

Tonight we’re gonna party like it’s 2010…fire dancers, street entertainers, bonfires, live music and DJs throughout the village, an on-hill throw down and a fireworks finale equals a New Year’s Eve Celebration not to be forgotten. Copper is the place to ring in 2010!

Copper’s Village Race Series is the longest running race league in Summit County. For more than 30 years, teams of friends and co-workers have come out weekly to compete against one another and have a great ski day. Open to skiers of all ages, the Village Race Series provides weekly racing with some of the best racers in the county, along with some novices learning the ropes. The race schedule offers a mix of 9 Slalom and GS races over a 10 week period on Thursday mornings. Complete with weekly after parties, this fun and competitive league allows for every racer to get in the gates.  Each party includes a video from the day’s race and great giveaways.  Registration for each week’s race takes place in Jack’s Restaurant from 8:30 – 9 a.m. Races start at 10 a.m. sharp.

Enjoy a family event not to be missed, with street entertainers, bonfires, fire performers, an ice skating performance, fireworks and more from 6 – 8 p.m. After all, En Fuego is Spanish for an epic Saturday night.

US Snowboarding Revolution Tour, Feb. 6 – 10

The U.S. Snowboarding Revolution Tour is the top junior event tour in the country. The event brings together athletes across the country to identify the top juniors. Halfpipe and slopestyle athletes 13-and-older (Snowboard Cross 15-and-older) compete together in an open-class event. The Revolution Tour is also used to qualify athletes for World Juniors, U.S. Open, U.S. World Cup, USASA Nationals and Project Gold camps. Check out www.ussnowboarding.com for more information.

En Fuego, Feb. 13

O’Fuego, March 13

En Fuego meets the luck of the Irish with O’Fuego! Live music, Marg O’Ritas from Margaritaville, a Pipe and Drum band, and plenty of green beer make for an epic Saturday night.

Colorado Special Olympics Winter Games, March 28 – 29

The Winter Games mark the culmination of the winter sports season for the 550 athletes who annually participate in Alpine Skiing, Cross Country skiing, Figure Skating, Snowshoeing and Snowboarding.  This season marks the 22nd consecutive year Copper Mountain will host the event. Copper is proud to be the official winter training site for all Colorado-based winter Special Olympics athletes as well as the official host resort for the Winter Games through 2010.

USASA Nationals, April 3 – 10

Copper hosts the largest snowboarding and free ski event on earth – the 2010 and 2011 USASA Nationals.  Each year, the top regional finishers are invited to attend the USASA National Championships to compete against some of the best male and female athletes from around the country in slopestyle, superpipe, boardercross, slalom and giant slalom in their quest to become National Champions.

Easter Sunday – Colorado’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt, April 4

50,000 Easter Eggs will fill the Village and Mountain this Easter Sunday at Copper.  There will be an all-ages hunt on the mountain and two kid’s hunts in the village. Plus there will be special “Copper Eggs” in each of the hunts that can be redeemed for great prizes!

Sunsation, April (Dates TBD)

Springtime turns, attractive tunes and warm sunshine are all on order for Copper’s 9th annual Sunsation!  Past performances include: The Wailers, Michael Franti & Spearhead, DJ Z-Trip, Matisyahu, Mix Master Mike and many more. Red Bull 1976 Games, April 16 – 18

This event is played off the 1976 Winter Games “known as the 1976 Games” that were awarded to Colorado after their bid on hosting it. Voters in Colorado later voted against hosting the games, even though the state fought hard to be a host, so the games never took place. Red Bull 1976 Games brings the games back to Colorado and finally “give the year 1976 its day.” Competitions include Snowbladecross & Old School Air, plus an award for most outrageous costume and team mojo!
